Elgin Watch Co., Elgin, Illinois, "Father Time" with wind indicator, 16 size, 21 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted to 5 positions, rayed damascene nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold timing screws and gold jewel settings, in a yellow gold filled, screw back and bezel, engraved open face case and Arabic numeral, double sunk white enamel dial, blued steel spade and poker hands, serial #19311433, c1920
CONDITION:
CASE: Case has housed another movement; Dents, dings and pin pricks, band; Bezel with deep gouge; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on inner surface of case; Engraving with moderate wear; Gold filled with minor brassing; Bezel thread binds at gouge; Minor chips on crystal. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel; Chips in enamel concealed by bezel; Chips in enamel at center arbor and wind indicator. HANDS: Specks of oxide. MOVEMENT PLATES: Scratches on plate; Train bridge with deep scratches; Click, balance cock screw and case screws with oxide; Winding wheels with a few specks of oxide; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide; One barrel bridge screw missing. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
